Sofia Vergara is going back to her roots after showing off her freshly dyed blonde hair in an Instagram post earlier this week. The 49-year-old shared a moody selfie to celebrate her new hair, drawing praise from friends and fans alike as she leaned back into blonde prior to the premiere of America’s Got Talent season 17.

Vergara captioned the image, “Blond again thank u @kellybkline <3 u #readyforAGT” and has since showed off her dye job on the red carpet for the Vanity Fair Oscars afterparty where she wore her tresses long and loose, paired with a stunning nude gown.
The actress’ co-judge on AGT, Howie Mandel, commented on the stunning snap, “I think it’s amazing but who am I to judge hair,” making a quip about his own bald head. However, fans aren’t convinced that Vergara simply dyed her hair for fun, and are instead speculating that the 49-year-old is gearing up to portray Evelyn Hugo in the upcoming film, The Seven Husbands Of Evelyn Hugo.

Vergara has not publicly spoken on the rumors, but one fan commented on her post, “YOU RETURNED TO BLOND BECAUSE YOU’RE GOING TO INTERPRET EVELYN HUGO RIGHT??” while another fan replied to that comment, “we want so.”
The actress is no stranger to dramatic transformations to take on new roles, and most recently she was cast in the upcoming Netflix show, Griselda, playing the infamous drug queenpin ‘The Black Widow.’ Whether or not Vergara is set to grace your screen as Evelyn Hugo, she certainly looks stunning with her fresh blonde dye job and can be seen during her hosting gig on the next season of AGT, airing this summer.
