Celebrities transforming their bodies for movie roles is nothing new – but we think Sydney Sweeney gaining 30 lbs. and training daily for over three months to play boxing legend Christy Martin in an upcoming biopic might be one of the most impressive transformations we’ve seen in years!
The 27-year-old Euphoria star looks completely unrecognizable in behind-the-scenes pictures taken from the upcoming biopic (check them out here!) which currently has no name and no release date. And she hasn’t been shy about telling fans about some of the things she did to prepare for the role…

Sydney Sweeney Talks About Training For Christy Martin Biopic
While the White Lotus alum (pictured above with the real Christy Martin at the International Boxing Hall of Fame in Canastota, New York) donned a brown mullet and wore brown contact lenses while filming, some of the other physical changes took a lot more effort.
In an interview with W magazine, she opened up about how her body transformed during the process, and just how much work she put into becoming a boxing powerhouse.
"My body was completely different," Sydney revealed. "I loved it. I came onboard to play Christy, and I had about three and a half months of training. I started eating. I weight-trained in the morning for an hour, kickboxed midday for about two hours, and then weight-trained again at night for an hour." Wow!
The Anyone But You star's intense training routine and revamped diet, which saw her gain 30 lbs. to transform herself into the iconic boxer (above) naturally meant that her body changed, and she confessed that she went up four clothes sizes during that time!
"I didn't fit in any of my clothes," the Madame Web star shared, adding: "I'm usually a size 23 in jeans, and I was wearing a size 27. My boobs got bigger. And my butt got huge. It was crazy!"
She didn't seem to mind though, if we are to believe the interview, as she added: "I was like, 'Oh my God.' But it was amazing: I was so strong, like crazy strong."
