Taco Bell’s Mexican Pizza is practically a fast food cult classic—which is why it’s not entirely surprising that this menu item sold out within days when it made its short-lived return to the restaurant’s menu back in May. That was the first time it graced the mouths of Taco Bell patrons in two years, and fans were so excited about it that they ran Taco Bell dry of the ingredients. In fact, what was meant to be a six-month supply was reportedly gone in under a month.
However, lovers of the meaty, cheesy meal will be happy to hear that it’s now officially returning to the menu—and this time, it’s for good.

Mexican Pizza Will Return To The Taco Bell Menu
That’s right: this tasty concoction is making a comeback for real this time. After they disappeared from stores, Taco Bell promised that the Mexican Pizza would be back once they had properly prepared, and now the wait is finally over. Starting September 15, you can chow down on as many Mexican Pizzas as your heart desires for years to come. And if you’re a member of Taco Bell’s rewards program, you can even get your hands on it a few days earlier.
The Taco Bell website describes the Mexican Pizza as “two crisp flour tortilla shells filled with seasoned ground beef, hearty beans and then topped with pizza sauce, a blend of three real cheeses – cheddar, pepper jack and mozzarella – melted to perfection, and topped with diced ripe tomatoes.” And finally, all of that can be yours in just a few short days! And rejoice, they will. The anticipation for this menu item’s comeback is seriously unparalleled. There’s even been petitions to bring it back—and one amassed over 170,000 signatures. So it’s no wonder that Taco Bell is taking “go big or go home” to a whole new level to celebrate the Mexican Pizza’s return. They’ve even put together a whole musical.
You read that right: “Mexican Pizza: the Musical” was set to debut earlier this year, but once the menu item sold out so quickly, that, too was postponed. Now fans will finally be able to hear the Taco Bell-centric songs they’ve been waiting for, sung by Doja Cat, Dolly Parton, and more.
