Taylor Swift stunned us all in a breathtaking lavender gown while also announcing her long-awaited, upcoming re-recorded album: Speak Now (Taylor’s Version). The Grammy winner posed in a strapless violet dress with flowing tulle fabric in her latest Instagram post, replicating her 2010 album cover art.

The “Anti-Hero” hitmaker opened up about re-recording the songs from her beloved third studio album in a heartfelt caption for her 258 million followers, and she wore her long, blonde naturally curly tresses down in the image.

Taylor Swift Wows In Violet Tulle Dress For Speak Now Re-Recording Announcement

The “Bejeweled” singer’s frock, as eagle-eyed fans on IG revealed, is by Giambattista Valli, and from the Italian label’s Spring 2023 collection. For her makeup look, Swift sported her signature black liner winged cat-eye, voluminous mascara, rosy blush and a pink pout.

For the original Speak Now cover shot, she also wore a purple dress and her long, curly hair down, but she faced to the left. In this more recent pic, she is facing towards the right, which seems to signify a new beginning.

The 33-year-old singer-songwriter, as fans know, has already successfully re-recorded her 2008 record, Fearless and 2012’s Red, and the newer versions both feature special, previously unheard tracks from her earlier career days. Swift, who is currently embarking on her record-breaking Eras Tour, discussed her plans for Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) in her May 5th post caption.

“It fills me with such pride and joy to announce that my version of Speak Now will be out July 7 (just in time for July 9th, iykyk),” she wrote, referencing her 13th song off the album, “Last Kiss.”

Swift continued, “I first made Speak Now, completely self-written, between the ages of 18 and 20. The songs that came from this time in my life were marked by their brutal honesty, unfiltered diaristic confessions and wild wistfulness. I love this album because it tells a tale of growing up, flailing, flying and crashing … and living to speak about it.” She also noted that six new tracks “from the vault” will be unveiled in two months, and naturally, Swifties on social media are losing it:

Swift’s Ongoing Album Re-Recording Journey, Explained

The “Cruel Summer” crooner is re-recording these older records after her former record label Big Machine Records sold her back catalog of music to music executive Scooter Braun. As Swift has explained to fans in the past, Braun bought the ownership of her first six albums in 2020, including Speak Now, her 2006 self-titled album, 2014’s 1989 and 2017’s Reputation.

She doesn’t own her previous albums since she signed her first record deal when she was 14, which relinquished her masters’ rights. Each of Swift’s revamped records are referred to as “Taylor’s Versions” since she owns them. In the “Lavender Haze” songwriter’s two-part slide, she also included an image with pink text on a violet background that had another message for her fans.

It read, “I always looked at this album as my album, and the lump in my throat expands to a quivering voice as I say this. Thanks to you, dear reader, it finally will be.” She added, including lyrics to her hit song and Speak Now opener “Mine:” “I consider this music to be, along with your faith in me, the best thing that’s ever been mine.”
