A close call occurred during Taylor Swift‘s “Eras Tour” stop in Tokyo last week as she neared a tumble while on stage. The incident, in which the 34-year-old Grammy winner almost fell off a prop while concluding her performance of “The 1,” quickly gained attention as a viral video among fans on social media.

Close Call: Taylor Swift Avoids Tripping Off Tokyo Stage As Fans React To Her Almost Mishap

At the Tokyo Dome on February 9th, the “Anti-Hero” hitmaker nearly tripped while walking on a stage prop, but fortunately, she managed to regain her balance. As seen in fan-shot footage, Swift began the Folklore segment of the performance by positioning herself on the rooftop of a cabin.

As she sang the opening track from her 2020 album, she had a slight misstep as she walked along the roof while donning a long, flowing green maxi dress. The “Lavender Haze” songwriter then regained her composure and resumed her stride towards the stage to perform the upcoming song, “Betty.”

Shortly after, while speaking to her Japanese audience, Swift made reference to the incident. “I almost fell off the Folklore cabin, but I didn’t, and that’s the lesson,” she said to concertgoers, adding: “My life flashed before my eyes.”

She then reassured concerned fans, stressing: “Yeah, no, I’m good. It’s all good. Everything’s fine. Everything’s great. I’m just so happy that I didn’t fall off the Folklore cabin.” Swift then started discussing the creation process behind her Folklore album and moved on.

On Twitter, fans reacted to the clip and expressed how "relieved" they were that Swift did not indeed trip or get injured. "Taylor be careful," one recently tweeted along with the video as another added: "Performing end on end back to back ongoing for months not everything will be perfect. Not a shocker really."

While Swift was on tour in 2023, performing in the United States, Mexico, and South America, many Swifties endearingly labeled some of the mistakes made during the concerts as part of the "Errors Tour."

Swift's current concert tour is a remarkable feat, taking fans on a journey through all her musical phases and "eras." With her 10-album discography in mind, the Eras Tour is her most extensive one yet, consisting of 151 shows across five continents.

It has broken records, earning more than $1 billion in revenue, and becoming the highest-grossing tour ever. In 2023, a concert film of the tour was released, receiving rave reviews and eventually becoming the highest-earning concert film in history. On March 15th, fans will be able to stream it via Disney+.
