A whole host of A-listers turned up to celebrate Saturday Night Live‘s 50th anniversary, otherwise known as SNL50, on Sunday, February 16th. But Taylor Swift was not one of those A-listers.
Hardcore Swifties will recall that she was noticeably absent from the celebratory event, but they didn’t know the exact reason. Until now! There has been some speculation that she simply missed the event because she and boyfriend Travis Kelce were away, or because she was working on something else, such as her new album. But insiders close to the “Lavender Haze” hitmaker have hinted that she missed the event because of something (or should we say someone!) else!

Taylor Swift Reportedly Missed 'SNL50' Because Of Blake Lively And Kim Kardashian
According to reports, the 35-year-old "Anti-Hero" hitmaker didn't want to attend the event in New York City because her once very close friend Blake Lively – so close she even held her birthday party at Taylor's house! – was going to be there with her husband, Ryan Reynolds. She also reportedly wasn't happy that Kim Kardashian was going to be there, who we know she has had on/off drama with for many years.
It's being reported that the "Look What You Made Me Do" singer wants to stay away from the Gossip Girl alum at the moment, as she doesn't want to get involved with the drama surrounding Blake and her It Ends With Us co-star, Justin Baldoni.
According to the Daily Mail, the "Blank Space" singer reportedly wants a drama-free life right now, and just wants to focus on her new album that will be released in the not-so-distant future.
"Taylor is not communicating with Blake. She was invited to SNL50, but with Blake there – and Kim Kardashian – it was the last place on earth she would be seen," an insider told the Daily Mail.
"Taylor is taking stock of which of her friends are good for her and who name drops her for personal gain after Blake-gate," a second source said. They added: "She has a new album in the works and is shocked by how much drama she was pulled into. She won't let external factors hurt her career."
Taylor Swift Doesn't Want To Be Dragged Into Blake Lively And Justin Baldoni Drama
If you recall, the "Cruel Summer" singer was dragged into the ongoing Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni drama after the Jane the Virgin actor claimed in a lawsuit that the A Simple Favor actress had used Swift's name to intimidate him during a meeting with Reynolds about some edits she had made to a scene in the movie.
Baldoni's filing alleges that the mom-of-four summoned him to her New York penthouse, with a "megacelebrity" (which is assumed to be the "Shake it Off" singer) arriving unexpectedly and praising Lively's edits to the rooftop scene in the movie. The filing claims: "Baldoni understood the subtext: he needed to comply with Lively's direction for the script."
According to the Daily Mail, Baldoni allegedly claimed that the "Karma" singer made him feel like he "needed to comply with Blake's direction for the script." An insider previously told the pub that Swift actually had no intention of being at the meeting, but arrived at Lively's New York penthouse while it was still happening.
"For the time being she is taking a step back from Blake because she doesn't want to get tangled in this more than she already has – which is far more than she ever needed to be," the insider said at the time.
