Drugstores that are open at all hours of the day and night are like angels sent from above. They understand our way of procrastinating until the last minute to get a prescription filled or to stock up on $5 Micellar cleansers, bags of chips, and root touch-up hair color. What I'm trying to say is: CVS, don't ever stop being you.

With that said, it's completely possible to waste money anywhere, even while shopping at a convenient drugstore known for stocking money-saving alternatives to everyday products found at your grocery store. But don't take our word for it — Tina R., a former CVS employee from New York, reluctantly (because she kept insisting the store is 'awesome') clued us in on the one "ripoff" she says too many customers fall for when they shop at CVS.

"Some people are really loyal to the brands they like, so I'm not sure if I'd call it a 'ripoff,' but I don't think people know how much more money they'd save if they bought CVS brands," Tina says. "There's this brand of snacks called CVS Gold Emblem that is so, so good and many of them are cheaper than name-brand snacks sold at CVS. Whenever a customer rang up expensive nuts or granola or whatever, it took everything in me not to scream, 'What are you doing? Buy the CVS brand!'"

And there you have it: when in Rome (or, in this case, in CVS) take advantage, whenever possible, of CVS-brand products — which Tina says aren't just less expensive but are equally as good.
