When trying to lose weight, it’s important to pay close attention to your diet–and eliminating foods that are full of empty calories and lack the nutrients needed to fill you up. However, it can be difficult to know which foods are doing you more harm than good.

White bread is definitely one of the worst foods for weight loss, so avoiding it is a good idea.

 

White bread is made from refined grains--grains stripped of nutrients--which makes it an unhealthy part of any diet.

While whole grains maintain their dietary fiber, iron, and vitamins, refined grains do not. With that in mind, eating white bread means that you are filling up on empty calories.

Empty calories are a huge barrier to weight loss.

 

Rebecca Gawthorne, accredited dietitian and nutritionist, explained to HuffPost, ""There is no health benefit to consuming foods that contain empty calories and they can actually have a negative impact on our health, leading to weight gain and chronic diseases, so it's best to limit or avoid empty calories."

With that in mind, sticking to whole grains is a great way to start avoiding empty calories and seeing quicker weight loss results.
