Potato Chips

Potato chips are a popular snack choice--especially for anyone who prefer salty over sweet. Unfortunately, these snacks are really bad for you and your diet.

According to WebMD, "Potato chips are one of the foods that contribute most to weight gain."

Potato chips are full of saturated fat and high in sodium, both of which are dangerous if you are not keeping them in moderation. Too much sodium can lead to blood pressure, heart, and kidney problems. Plus, if you are concerned about weight gain, restricting these is important.

It's also easy for snacking on potato chips to become addictive.

Healthline explains how foods like chips can become addicting: "Processed foods are usually engineered to be hyper-palatable so that they taste really good. They also contain high amounts of calories and cause significant blood sugar imbalances. These are known factors that can cause food cravings."

With that in mind, restricting potato chips can be difficult. In fact, it may be easier to cut them out altogether.

Instead, sticking to healthier snack options that incorporate whole grains and healthy fats could be the best method to achieve your weight loss and health goals.
