It's back! McDonald's is officially selling the Shamrock Shake again from now through St. Patrick's Day, and there are a few new options this year!

But before you run to your nearest Mickey D's, you need to know exactly what your drinking-->

Shamrock Shakes

This year, McCafé is offering five different variations of the Shamrock Shake. There's the classic minty green concoction, of course, as well as a Chocolate Shamrock Shake, a Shamrock Chocolate Chip Frappé, a Shamrock Hot Chocolate and a Shamrock Mocha. YUM! But not so fast...

Shamrock Shake

Did you know that a Shamrock Shake has 35 ingredients? And that's only in the original version--imagine how many ingredients are in any of the new special shakes?? There's no way any drink or food made from 35 ingredients is good for you... how can something possibly have that many things in it?

But that's not even the scariest part about this seasonal McDonald's drink--->

Shamrock Shake

According to this health site, a large 22-ounce McDonald's Shamrock Shake contains 820 calories, 22 grams of fat, 14 grams of saturated fat and a whopping 115 grams of sugar (The American Heart Association recommends no more than 24-36 grams/day).

And if you're thinking that you'd never order a large, well, the smaller sizes don't make this drink any better for you.

A 16-ounce Shamrock Shake has 550 calories, 13 grams of fat, 8 grams of saturated fat and 82 grams of sugar. Mary Hartley, registered dietitian and online nutritionist at AskMaryRD.com, tells Shape, "The 82 grams of sugar is the worst," Hartley says. "It’s like eating around six slices of bread all at once." WOWZA.

Shamrock Shake

Yes, a Shamrock Shake and it's new, cooler versions might make your taste buds do a happy dance, but they are absolutely not worth drinking based on nutritional facts. Consuming one is like letting a garbage truck dump out in your body.
