Target has made several store changes in response to Covid-19 in order to keep their customers and employees safe while keeping their stores open. In addition to the stores implementing safety precautions, there are some things that you, as a customer, can do to help keep yourself and others safe and healthy.

With that in mind, keep reading for the one mistake you should never make when waiting in line at Target.

Standing Too Close To Others

Target has made several updates to their stores to encourage shoppers to practice social distancing. The chain specifies certain measures they are taking to ensure that people remain an appropriate distance from one another, including "[a]ctively monitoring and, when needed, metering guest traffic to promote social distancing; posting signage at the front of every store; implementing floor signage; dedicating team members to ensure guests wait in line at an appropriate distance until they're called to the register; overhead audio messaging in our stores."

It is important to pay attention to the team members who are implementing social distancing rules in the lines. With busy stores comes longer lines and wait times, so it can be tempting to move a little closer in the hopes of speeding up your shopping trip. However, maintaining the six feet of space is one of the best ways to prevent the spread of coronavirus, so it should be a priority on any trip to Target.

This is especially important because not all Target stores are requiring customers to wear masks at this time. Depending on your location, you may not need a mask to enter a Target store, which makes social distancing even more crucial.

Target team members are still required to wear face masks. The website explains, "Given CDC guidance on the role that face masks can play in slowing the spread of the coronavirus and to keep our team and guests safe, we’re requiring team members to wear masks or face coverings when working."

With that in mind, maintaining the six feet of distance while in line (and throughout the store) is the best precautionary step you can take to help keep yourself and others safe.
