Queen Elizabeth is the head of the Church of England, a Protestant Anglican church that her family has governed since the 1500s. Her Christian faith means a lot to her, and the Queen desperately misses the rituals of going to church on Sunday.
In her 68 year rule, Queen Elizabeth has weathered many tumultuous events and even served in the British Army as a mechanic during World War II. The Queen has been sheltering-in-place along with her husband, Prince Phillip at Windsor Castle.
The Queen has long leaned heavily on the strength she derives from her faith. "Her Christian faith means so much to her, and those rituals of going to church on Sunday and praying in the chapel are not happening," a close insider told People magazine.
Despite not being about to worship in her church, the Queen has been conducting official business virtually. Other senior members of the royal family have also turned to virtual meetings in order to continue their charitable work. The Queen is not letting this momentary absence from worship let her down. A source told People that the Queen has the ability to capture the mood of the world, “She always hits the right mark. She has impeccable judgment.”
