There were plenty of cute couple moments on the 2019 Academy Awards red carpet, but there was one A-list pair that was noticeably missing from the big event: Emily Blunt and John Krasinski.
Viewers were surprised to see that the couple was absent from the event, especially since they have been at every award show this year.
Closer Weekly investigated why the two weren't at the 2019 Oscars, and the publication insinuated that the pair might not have been asked to attend...
"Though we’re not totally sure why the parents-of-two skipped the Oscars, neither Emily nor John was nominated for an award during tonight’s show and they weren’t asked to present or perform either," Closer Weekly's Julia Birkinbine writes.
Interesting... We're still bummed that Blunt and Krasinski weren't at the show, but we're happy we still got to see them be adorable this award season.
Krasinski's acceptance speech at the Critics’ Choice Awards blew fans away when he thanked his wife and gave a shoutout their two children. “I got to make a movie about a love story, and a love letter to my kids and I got to do it with the love of my life by my side. So, I’m pretty sure it doesn’t get much better than that!” he gushed onstage.
And who can forget the couple's cute embrace when Blunt won Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role at the 2019 SAG Awards. Blunt's acceptance speech was pretty adorable, too.
"I am going to share this completely with my husband John Krasinski because the entire experience of doing this with you has completely pierced my heart directly," she said. "You are a stunning filmmaker. I’m so lucky to be with you and to have done this film with you. Thank you for giving me the part. You would have been in major trouble if you hadn’t, so you didn’t really have an option, but thank you.”
