According to Dr. Zeichner, Director of Cosmetic and Clinical Research at the Department of Dermatology at Mount Sinai Hospital, skipping sunscreen is the worst skincare mistake you can make.

He explains, "The worst skin care mistake you can make is not applying sunscreen. We know that UV light is directly associated both with premature aging and skin cancer. Even low levels of incidental sun exposure build up over a lifetime."

The same rule applies even if you are spending the day inside. Zeichner continues, "Some protection is important even if you are indoors. UVA light penetrates right through window glass. So if you are sitting by the window or driving, you still need broad-spectrum sunscreen with at least SPF 30."

Even sitting in front of your computer--or any other sources of blue light--can cause harm.

He explains, "Mineral blockers like zinc oxide filter UV light and may give you some protection against high energy visible light, a.k.a. blue light, which is thought to contribute to premature aging."

He recommends Solara Suncare Time Traveler as a go to sunscreen for regular use.
