Dunkin’ Donuts is known for its donut selection, but its coffee and breakfast sandwiches are also super popular. Unfortunately, finding a healthy breakfast on the menu can be a challenge, especially if you are concerned about weight gain.

Most people know that donuts–high in sugar and empty calories–can be detrimental to your health. However, they might not realize how Dunkin’s other menu items can also negatively impact your health.

With that in mind, keep reading for the worst menu item to order at Dunkin!

Frozen Coffee With Cream

One of Dunkin's most refreshing menu items is their frozen coffees. Unfortunately, these cold drinks might just be the worst thing to order if you have weight loss in mind.

According to Eat This, Not That, Dunkin's Frozen Coffee--Caramel Swirl with Cream is one of the worst options of their menu. A medium size of this drink contains a whopping 900 calories. Plus, it has 142 grams of sugar.

The other flavors of Dunkin's Frozen Coffee with Cream (Butter Pecan Swirl, French Vanilla Swirl, Hazelnut Swirl, and Mocha Swirl) have similar nutrition stats, which is a pretty good reason to avoid the menu item altogether.

When choosing a Frozen Coffee, your best bet is to avoid these added flavors altogether and switch out cream for skim milk. Even then, however, you're still consuming 84 grams of sugar.

High sugar drinks can lead to weight gain. Healthline explains, "[S]ugary beverages don’t curb your hunger, making it easy to quickly consume a high number of liquid calories. This can lead to weight gain."

Too much sugar can also increase your risk of developing serious health problems like type 2 diabetes and cancer.

With that in mind, the next time you go to Dunkin' Donuts, try avoiding the Frozen Coffee options and instead look for a lower sugar and low-calorie option. For example, swapping it for a Dunkin' Iced Coffee (even with cream) is only 90 calories with 1 gram of sugar.
