Although most people don’t go to Wendy’s for a healthy meal, there are definitely some menu items that are more diet-friendly than others. Specifically, if you are trying to keep tabs on your saturated fat intake, it’s a good idea to double check your Wendy’s order.

With that in mind, keep reading for the one Wendy’s menu item you should always avoid because it has so much saturated fat!

Dave's Triple Cheeseburger

Next time you're at Wendy's, be sure to skip the Dave's Triple Cheeseburger, which packs in tons of calories, saturated fat, and sodium.

According to The Daily Meal, "The unhealthiest thing you can eat at Wendy’s is Dave’s Triple, which contains three quarter-pound patties, cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, ketchup, and mayo. It has 1,090 calories, 72 grams of fat, 30 grams of saturated fat, 4 grams of trans fat, 260 milligrams of cholesterol, and 1.910 milligrams of sodium."

If the high amount of calories and sodium do not ward you off this order, the amount of saturated fat should since it's over twice the recommended daily limit.

According to the American Heart Association, you should be limiting the amount of saturated fat you consume to only 5-6% of your daily caloric intake.

The website explains, "For example, if you need about 2,000 calories a day, no more than 120 of them should come from saturated fat. That’s about 13 grams of saturated fat per day."

Wendy's french fries

Consuming too much saturated fat can be harmful for your health.

According to Harvard Health, "A diet rich in saturated fats can drive up total cholesterol, and tip the balance toward more harmful LDL cholesterol, which prompts blockages to form in arteries in the heart and elsewhere in the body."

Wendy's

With that in mind, it's a good idea to stay away from Dave's Triple Cheeseburger when ordering--especially since you'll probably want some french fries (or something else) on the side. Instead, next time you want to indulge, try sticking to a single patty burger to keep things in proportion.
