Tim McGraw Flaunts His 40-Lb Weight Loss While Performing At The MLB Speedway Event

On Saturday, August 2nd, the annual MLB Speedway Classic festivities were held in Bristol Motor Speedway in Tennessee. While there was a lot of baseball talk and fun going on, one of the biggest highlights was Tim's long-awaited live performance.

Over the last year, the Blind Side actor has taken a break from the spotlight and live shows, as his health needed some attention. He revealed that after evaluating his health and body, he ended up needing double knee replacements and needed to undergo several procedures related to his back, leading him to cancel several concert dates. However, he made a triumphant return during the MLB events, strutting around in some skinny jeans and performing some of his hit songs like "I Like It, I Love It," and "Something Like That."

In addition to seeing him back in good health, viewers and audience members also got to see the vocalist flaunting his weight loss, which he's been working on over the last few years.

Tim McGraw Reveals He's Lost 40 Lbs From Cutting Alcohol And Exercising

The award-winning musician has transformed drastically in the last decade, and in 2019, opened up to Men's Journal about the hard work he put in to lose around 40 pounds. He revealed that around the time he filmed The Blind Side, he weighed over 200 pounds and knew he needed to make a change.

"I was in the prime of my career, and I wasn't capitalizing on it," he told the publication.

In order to set a good foundation for his successful weight loss, the country star cited cutting out "truck stop foods" like burgers and alcoholic beverages. He admitted to creating a slightly dependent relationship with alcohol, having a drink before going out on stage for many of his concerts. However, once he cut it out, he was ready to take his health journey even further, and moved on to getting in more effective exercise, adding that working out "took the place" of alcohol.

He's also kept up his good habits on tour, telling the health-themed magazine, "We start in the morning, and I always start all of my workouts with a 30-minute walk on the treadmill just to get everything loosened up and flowing."

"Then we'll do some stretching and stuff," he continued. "Typically, in the mornings, it's more of an active yoga and body weights. Then we go in and run stairs in the arena. We do a big CrossFit training session in the afternoon that usually goes from an hour to an hour and a half. It depends on how everybody holds up."

Once he learned he had lost 40 pounds, the country star told People that the way he looked truly didn't affect him much, but instead, it was the way he felt on the inside.

"It wasn't like I was trying to lose 40 pounds, I was just wanting to get healthy," he said. "For me, it is more about feeling good and being where I want to be physically and on stage."
