To take advantage of their offer, look out for the EATLOCAL banner on the app. Plus, all applicable orders will automatically receive the discount.

In an email to Uber Eats customers, the food delivery service explained its hope that this measure will make it easier for people to support their local restaurants while still following the CDC guidelines during quarantine.

The app is also offering contactless deliveries, so you can opt for the food to be left at your doorstep.

The email also details how the company is supporting the larger community: "We’re committing 300,000+ free meals on Uber Eats to healthcare workers and first responders in the U.S. and Canada. We know that the work of medical and crisis response teams can be tireless, and the hours long which is why we want to help even in a small way."

The company is also taking measures to support their employees during this time. The email explains, "We continue to support Uber delivery people and drivers with financial assistance in the event of a COVID-19 diagnosis or exposure, preventing them from working."
