Victoria Beckham Opens Up About Affair Rumors
Beckham, a four-part docuseries on Netflix, was released on October 4, 2023, with each 60+ minute episode covering a different era of David’s life. But episode 4 is where it gets juicy. In the episode titled “What Makes David Run,” the affair (or lack thereof, according to the Beckhams) is addressed.
The fashion designer described the explosive weeks that followed the allegations: “It was the hardest period for us,” she said plainly. “It felt like the world was against us. And we were against each other.”
It wasn’t any easier for the former Manchester United player, either. When asked how he dealt with the allegations, he explained, “I get sold overnight. The next minute, I am in a city, I don’t speak the language. More importantly, I didn’t have my family.” Isolated and alone in a country he wasn’t familiar with, the allegations came at the worst time for the young family.
What were the David Beckham Affair Rumors?
Rebecca Loos sold the story of their “affair” to newspapers News of the World (now defunct) and Sky News, claiming the two began their secret love in Madrid while Victoria was back in the UK. He was an “amazing lover,” Rebecca gushed. “The chemistry between David and I was so strong… we were just locked into each other all night.”
Within hours of the story being published, everyone was talking about it. Talk show hosts spent more time talking about David Beckham’s alleged affair than his soccer skills, and David and Victoria’s faces were splashed on the covers of magazines and newspapers for weeks.
It’s hard even now for the power couple to reflect back on this rocky period in their relationship. But, “we were not losing each other,” David clarified. “We were drowning.” But luckily, both knew how to swim.
“We’re fighters,” David said firmly. “What we had was worth fighting for.”
