She’s the wellness guru you either love or love to question. No matter what your feelings are about actress Gwyneth Paltrow, who is becoming as well known for her beauty and wellness site Goop as for her movies, the star is repeatedly able to sell out her products, many of which are innovative, interesting, and get people talking (for better or worse).

One of Paltrow’s forays into wellness led her to creating supplement packs — four in total — that have become so popular it’s difficult to keep them in stock. These vitamins and supplements come in single-serve pouches with cute names like Why Am I So Effing Tired, High School Genes, The Mother Load, and Balls in the Air. Experts are on the fence about whether Paltrow’s supplements are really necessary, with some insisting it’s just as easy to get vital nutrients from food. But if you’re curious about the vitamins that Paltrow recommends to fuel workouts and life, here are four that can be found in her supplement packets.

The 125 Best New Beauty Launches Of 2023
vitamin B12

Vitamin B12

Vitafusion B12 ($13.26)

It's easy to be deficient in vitamin B12, especially if you're a vegan or vegetarian. This vitamin, usually found in organic dairy products, eggs, meats, and fish, is crucial when it comes to maintaining energy levels. If you attempt to power through your workout, and especially strength training with weights, without sufficient B12 in your system, you'll feel it. To boot: vitamin B12 is aids in digestion, boosts your mood and memory, and helps prevent anemia and fatigue.

beta carotene

Beta Carotene

Spring Valley Beta Carotene Softgels ($3.96)

You know it best as the nutrient found in veggies like carrots, but a beta-carotene supplement, if needed, has been shown to boost athletic performance, particularly in runners. There is even evidence that beta carotene can prevent exercise-induced asthma attacks and slow down osteoarthritis. With all of that said it's important to note: research is still sketchy when it comes to these claims. Getting your daily recommended dose of beta carotene is important, but further evidence is needed before determining whether beta carotene supplements help if your diet is already well balanced.

Broccoli Sprout extract

Broccoli Sprout Extract

Best Naturals Broccoli Sprout Extract ($19.25)

Love what broccoli can do for your body, but hate eating actual broccoli? This may be your solution: a broccoli sprout extract supplement, which sulforaphane to lower certain types of cancers. There are some studies that show this extract can fight diabetes, combat inflammation, and even lower blood sugar levels.

Glutathione

NOW Glutathione Vegetable Capsules ($21.36)

Glutathione is an antioxidant that neutralizes cell-damaging free radicals and has a number of other incredible health benefits. If your doctor gives you the green light to take a glutathione supplement, some research shows it may help fight against autoimmune disease, reduce oxidative stress that can lead to diseases like diabetes and cancer, and improve insulin resistance and fat burning in older adults.
