Attention Walmart shoppers! The JM Smucker Company LLC, in partnership with the FDA, has initiated a voluntary recall of two Great Value brand bakery items sold exclusively at Walmart stores nationwide because they might contain plastic fragments.

The recall involves Great Value Cinnamon Rolls and Great Value Cheese Danishes (see pics below), prompted by the discovery of plastic in the products.

Walmart's Great Value Cinnamon Rolls & Cheese Danishes Pulled From Shelves Due To Plastic Fragments

The recall affects these Great Value items: the Great Value Cheese Danishes (UPC 078742201177) with lot number L092525200 269X, and the Great Value Cinnamon Rolls (UPC 078742201160) with lot number L092525200 269X.

Both the Great Value Cheese Danishes and Great Value Cinnamon Rolls were available in retail boxes containing a dozen individually wrapped pastries. Shoppers probably bought them as single packaged items.

The recall, as reported by AllRecipes, involves 2,027 cases of Great Value Cheese Danishes and 1,602 cases of Great Value Cinnamon Rolls. The recall began on November 1st, but it wasn't formally designated as a Class II recall until November 19th.

This means that it is "a situation in which use of, or exposure to, a violative product may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences or where the probability of serious adverse health consequences is remote."

The recall is still in effect, so it's likely that some customers still possess the affected Walmart bakery items.

If you think you have one of these products, avoid eating it. Dispose of it or take it back to the store where you bought it to get a refund.
