Walmart just announced that they are preparing to deliver up to 13 million doses of the Covid-19 vaccine per month!
The big box store released a statement via their website on Friday outlining their plans for distribution of the life-saving vaccination. This is huge!

In a blog post titled "When Vaccines Roll Out in the U.S., Walmart Stands Ready to Serve," and authored by executive vice president of health and wellness Dr. Cheryl Pegus.
The Arkansas-based company said it will deliver many millions of the vaccine "when supply and allocations allow."

"With 150 million people passing through our doors each week, we’re in a unique position to reach people where they already shop," Dr. Pegus said in the story.
The company revealed that they plan to focus on rural and underserved areas of the country for doling out the vaccine.

"We have nearly 4,000 Walmart locations that are positioned within one or more of the federally designated medically underserved areas or where there are limited pharmacy options," she explained.
"Walmart has the reach and the qualified, trained pharmacists and pharmacy staff to partner with community organizations to provide vaccination services at third party locations like churches, stadiums and youth centers." Wow--we love this plan for helping people across the U.S. who need it most amid the pandemic!
