Wendy Williams opened up about her financial troubles with Wells Fargo in an Instagram video last week, and explained her situation to her fans. The talk show host, 57 addressed her “loving supporters,” and wanted them to know that it “isn’t fair” that her bank froze her out of her account with claims that she needs a guardian. Williams explained that she wants answers from her former financial adviser and bank.
“My thing is that I’ve been asking questions about my money and when I begin asking questions about my money, suddenly Lori Schiller has got no response regarding my money. I want my money. This is not fair,” she said. Schiller, Williams’ former adviser, allegedly led Wells Fargo to freeze the star’s account. This came after Schiller claimed Williams was of “unsound mind” to handle her affairs.
“Wells Fargo has no questions and answers regarding my money. This is not fair. And Lori Schiller and Wells Fargo has this guardianship petition about keeping me away from my money,” she added. “This is not right and this is not fair,” she repeated. In the video, uploaded to Williams’ personal account, she wrote in its caption, “I’m tired of everyone speaking as if they’re me in this scenario. It’s time I let all of my loving supporters know what’s really been going on with Wendy,” along with heart and smiley face emojis.

Williams, who was visibly upset in the video, not only spoke out against Schiller, a national advisor for Wells Fargo Advisors in New York, but also mentioned her ex-manager Bernie Young. Williams accused Young of using “my American Express card to hire an attorney to file a petition against me.” She added, “Bernie, you’re no good and this is not fair at all.”
According to the Sun, Young filed to be Williams’ legal guardian “as she suffers serious health problems.” Williams did not address this report directly or alleged health problems but she did speak about her bank, doctor and medical information. “Then there’s this person. This … A former doctor … had medical information about me that I never even got,” she said. Williams then claimed, “it was sent over to Lori Schiller. So I haven’t gotten this stuff […] I fired this doctor and, again, all I want to know is where is my money?” she questioned.
Williams also told fans that she believes the New York court system is “being weird to me” and likened her situation to the “Kung-Fu judge case,” which involved, as Page Six writes, “a greedy lawyer who pilfered over $600,000 from the estate of late Brooklyn Judge John Phillips.”
Williams concluded her message, once again directing focus to Schiller, Young and Wells Fargo. “Please let me have access to my money. This is not right, and again, this is not fair. Have a pleasant day. Thank you,” Williams said, while a spokesperson for Wells Fargo previously denied “any allegations of improper actions with respect to Ms. Williams’ accounts.”
