Wendy Williams publicly addressed concerns about her health status and behavior. The 56-year-old host of “The Wendy Williams Show” recently split from her husband, Kevin Hunter, after 22 years of marriage, and her friends and fans have expressed worry about Williams’ behavior in public.
“People are concerned for [her] well-being especially after leaving Kevin, but it looks like the decision energized her in a lot of ways,” a source told Fox News. “She’s having some fun of her own, and rightfully so since her ex-husband obviously did.”
Another source added that concerns stem from Williams’ history of drinking, coupled with a health condition.

Williams addressed the ongoing concerns on her show last week.
She said, "I always say I love you for watching ‘cause I really, really do. I come here every day and I try to do the best that I can for you. I appreciate you watching, but even after all of these years, it’s still work. An effort put in for the hour I’m out here, you know? I guess every day is not perfect, but I’m not a perfectionist. I’m not perfect.”
Fans had begun commenting online about Williams' behavior on air prior to this episode, stating that they felt the host seemed to trail off while talking and lose focus.
WIliams responded to this, saying that her audience is a "tough crowd."
“I do appreciate you putting in the effort to watch us, and I love entertaining you. You know? It’s not easy. It is not easy, you’re a tough crowd," Williams added.
Her fans' concerns might not be unjust, however. Williams has taken a break from hosting her show in the past to rest and recover from a health condition.
Williams took a hiatus from filming the talk show in May of this year, as she had been experiencing ongoing fatigue as a symptom of Graves' disease.
She had revealed in 2018 that she had the autoimmune disorder. According to the America Thyroid Association, Graves' disease "leads to a generalized overactivity of the entire thyroid gland."
