Wendy’s might’ve built up their fame on their juicy burger, but over the years, their chicken sandwiches have risen in popularity and have become a beloved item on their menu. However, numerous customers don’t think they’re worth the trip anymore.

Customers of the famous fast food chain have been complaining online after they’ve noticed that a classic sandwich on their menu, the Crispy Chicken Sandwich, has gotten noticeably smaller over the years. After comparing photos of the chicken sandwich from various locations, users on platforms like Reddit noted that it looked like they were served “toddler-sized” portions, and are ready to stop going to the restaurant for once and for all. Read more about the controversial sandwich size below.

Customers Issue Complaints Against The Wendy's Crispy Chicken Sandwich

The fast food chain began introducing chicken sandwiches to their menu not too long after opening, and like other famous chains, they have had some simple, staple chicken-based items available for their customers for years. Aside from their specialty sandwiches, the Crispy Chicken one has been around for a while, and is supposed to offer a cheaper, low-key option for people. However, over the years, customers feel its quality has dropped substantially.

The Crispy Chicken sandwich comes with a crispy chicken patty, lettuce, and mayo on a plain bun. It's straightforward and just as easy to eat as it is to make. However, current customers, who may become former customers, don't think it's worth ordering at all. In a recent Reddit post, a customer shared a picture of their chicken sandwich they received at their local Wendy's, writing it's "now smaller than my fingers" and that they "can't believe they charge over $3 for it."

This sparked a conversation amongst other customers, many of whom shared similar sentiments, and had plenty of complaints surrounding the size of certain Wendy's items and the lower quality.

Wendy's Customers Say Their Food Is 'Toddler-Sized' And Threaten To Boycott On Reddit

Under the viral Reddit thread, numerous people who either used to go to Wendy's frequently or don't want to anymore began writing about their latest disappointing experiences, specifically surrounding their sandwiches, prices, and food quality.

"That's absurd!" commented a user, as another wrote that the sandwich was "more like a Crispy Chicken Micro."

"That thing is a slider, not a sandwich," added a user.

One Reddit user called the sandwich "toddler-sized," and another customer, who also ordered the Crispy Chicken sandwich, wrote, "They pulled out that same child-sized slider, and I was shocked that they have the audacity to charge over $3 and give you half of what you used to get."

"This is starting to get out of hand, in my opinion," they continued.

Other customers agree that the prices and portion sizes at Wendy's, like many other fast food chains, have gotten "out of hand," and therefore, they're putting their feet down and deciding not to go anymore.

"I boycotted Wendy's," wrote a customer who was complaining about their "microwaved" food. "Not only that, but they raised the price on top of it. So it's been over 2 years."

"Never going back to Wendy's," commented another.

"I have pretty much stopped going out to eat over all the inflation and the shrinkflation," added a user.

Wendy's is not the first major fast food corporation to be accused of "shrinkflation," which means charging higher prices for smaller items. However, it looks like this chicken sandwich fiasco may be the breaking point for former fans of the burger joint.
