Whoopi Goldberg Spreads 'Misinformation' About Voting

Whoopi and the other co-hosts were discussing the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act, which is backed by Donald Trump and GOP lawmakers. The SAVE Act, for short, would require proof of citizenship to vote.

Whoopi chimed in with her thoughts on the matter, saying, "I'm sorry, you have to present your ID when you go to vote. I always have to give them my driver's license so they can make sure that it's me."

Sunny Hostin quickly corrected her, saying, "You don't have to do that in New York."

But Whoopi continued: "They have all this information in the—in the voter registration. Well, you know what? A lot of information that we have given away ourselves is very personal information, which has allowed them to go in and get information you probably shouldn't give away. But my point is, we have all the things in place. What is it? What is this about? I don't want to have to go get my stuff."

Social Media Reactions

While many online users agree with Whoopi's point—that the SAVE Act should not be passed—they disagree with her false messaging, accusing her of spreading misinformation and speaking on a topic she has no knowledge on. "She is literally brain dead," one person wrote on X.

"Is there another show in America that has a lower IQ than the View?" another person asked.

"This show is filled with misinformation!" agreed the next user.

"Whoopi is a lunatic!" a fourth user said.

"Someone needs to actually stop her and correct her when she makes claims like this," a final user said. "Like it or not, this show actually influences real American citizens and she's spreading misinformation."
