McDonald's is home to a tasty variety of menu items. From their burgers and fries to their ice cream and coffee beverages, customers know that they're always in for a delicious treat when they choose Mickey D's. But, employees agree that there's one sandwich that customers should avoid at all costs as it's often left out all day and never served fresh. It's the Fillet-O-Fish sandwich!

The Fillet-O-Fish sandwich has been on the McDonald's menu since the 1960's and has been a beloved addition ever since. But, employees say that the longtime menu item doesn't always get the respect it deserves and is often neglected by the staff.
When asked what customers should avoid from the popular fast food chain, one employee said, "[The] Fish Fillet from McDonald's. I've seen those things sit there for hours before getting served."

Other Mickey D's employees were able to vouch for this Fish Fillet testimony, including this former employee who said, "I used to work at McDonald's. Don't order our fish patties. No one ever does and I swear some days we'd make a batch and it would sit there all day until someone ordered some."
But, none of these compare to the gross story that Reddit user and Mickey D's employee SGkurisu had to share. "My McDonald's kept the fish sandwiches in a super dirty cabinet and spent, like, five seconds cooking it when it actually gets ordered," they wrote. Yikes!

If you're still devoted to your Fillet-O-Fish sandwich and won't part ways with it, make sure that you're asking for it to be made fresh to order -- because who knows what's really going on behind the counter!
