Breakups are never easy. And they’re especially tough during a global pandemic. Ryan Seacrest has been going through a very public split from longtime girlfriend Shayna Taylor. He had been pretty quiet about it until recently when he opened about his feelings on an episode of his show On Air With Ryan Seacrest. It’s so sad!
“This is a generalization, but I read it. I didn’t create it. I’m just conveying,” the 45-year-old American Idol host explained on Monday, July 6. “They say men can, at times, find it challenging to share their feelings openly. …sometimes I find it tough off air. On air, no problem, which is so weird.” The breakup is definitely fresh—it was just announced by reps from both Ryan and Shayna.
Shayna, 28, shared some words of her own on Instagram, writing “You will never need to convince the right person to love you. No matter what, you cannot change them, make them do the work or get them to commit to you if they’re not ready to show up. Change must be inspired from within, and actions are always louder than words.”

Ryan and Shayna had their fair share of breakups and make-ups in the past, having split twice before, first calling it off shortly after they started dating in 2013 and then again in February 2019 before reconciling in September. Ryan said his relationship with the young beauty has felt like a “roller coaster” because of the off-on cycle. We hope they both find happiness and love—with each other again or with new partners.
