GREATS has joined brands like Sperry in making shoes from recycled water bottles!

The Brooklyn-based company just released a version of their bestselling Royale sneaker that is knitted from recycled ocean plastics.

The first run of men’s and women’s Royale Knit styles will account for 75,000 plastic bottles being removed from the planet. Swag!

And sneakerheads can rest assured that no elements were sacrificed through these earth-saving efforts. The cult shoe is still designed in Brooklyn and made in Italy, and oh-so-cool for everyday wear.

Priced at $119, the shoe also comes in 100% recycled packaging and is supremely comfortable and breathable, thanks to the recycled knit upper.

Each pair is made with the equivalent of 7 plastic water bottles, and GREATS hints at future sustainable efforts.

“GREATS is always trying to be better than, and with the release of our Royale Knit constructed from recycled ocean plastics this is an opportunity for us to tell the world,” CEO Ryan Babenzien says. “Not just at launch, but as a long-term conversation of what GREATS stands for as a brand.”

We can’t wait to see what they do next!
