The space theme has been making waves among celebrities lately (just look at Katy Perry’s headline-making mission), and Zendaya is the latest star to put her own spin on it—though she stayed firmly on Earth, opting for a stylized set instead of an actual launch.
Still, even her high-fashion take couldn’t fully win over fans, as some took to social media to poke fun at the space-inspired concept.
In her newest campaign for Swiss running brand On, Zendaya stars in Zone Dreamers, a fictional film trailer directed by visual artist Nadia Lee Cohen and styled by her longtime collaborator Law Roach.
Zendaya Launches Space-Inspired Sportswear Photoshoot For On
Playing a space-traveling heroine on a futuristic mission, Zendaya dons several custom-designed looks—including full astronaut-style suits created by Roach.
In one striking outfit, she wears a white and plastic astronaut ensemble. Other scenes show her in sleek sporty gear: crop tops, training tights, cut-out tops, bodysuits, and track pants—all while boxing and rocking Star Trek-style ears and a sharp pixie cut.
However, fans on Reddit weren’t exactly sold—many felt the concept was a bit too over-the-top for a sportswear campaign.

Fans React to Zendaya's On Space Sportswear Concept
"The clothes aren’t doing anything for me, but her hair is so ridiculous."
"I'm not fully convinced on buying the outfits for exercise since it is performance clothing after all."
"I like that it is almost camp, but it falls into the early “2000s sketchers campaign” to me. The singlet is ugly, and the action shots feel very static. Idk. Not into it."
"I wonder what kind of direction they gave, as normally she nails motion shots. Maybe this static was the look they were going for? Idk, not loving it."
"I'm sorry; I do not like this wig."
"I like the theme, but the clothes are boring, and Zendaya’s expressions are…lifeless? She usually shines through and through! Something here is off for me :("
"This is so bad, and the wig is a travesty."
While fans usually go crazy over the Spider-Man actress' fashion shoots, this isn’t the first time her fashion campaigns have faced online criticism.
Before this, her new images for Louis Vuitton—where she serves as a brand ambassador—were criticized by fans for what they called poor Photoshop work, with some jokingly asking if the brand “needed a new graphic designer.”
