Spending a little longer savoring your morning coffee these days? Times are definitely different, but there is something nice about taking a little longer to enjoy everyday indulgences.

I’ve been enjoying finding ways to upgrade my daily routines and habits, especially in the morning as I start my day. I no longer rush through my shower and even though I’m only wearing leggings and sweats these days, I still like to make a little effort putting together outfits that look nice.

After that, I head downstairs to get the day started with my morning coffee. Rather than just drink a normal cup like these are normal times, I’ve been experimenting, and I have to say, I’ve come up with some pretty delicious concoctions. Some days I drop a small square of dark chocolate in the bottom of my coffee cup. Before you judge, hear me out! I love to bake, so I know the secret to a really good chocolate cake is adding a splash of coffee to the batter. With this in mind, I decided to try this same concept in reverse and I’m here to tell you, it’s amazing! I use dark chocolate because it’s “healthy” and it adds just the right richness and sweetness. If you’ve never tried chocolate in your coffee (or coffee in your chocolate, for that matter), you must!

And then some mornings, when I feel like I really deserve a treat, I splash some Mooala Banana Nut Creamer into my morning coffee. Listen, if you thought your coffee was good before, this creamer takes it to a whole new level. The fact that it’s plant-based, dairy-, soy- and gluten-free are all perks for me, but the real appeal is how yummy this creamer makes coffee taste. It magically mimics all the flavor and goodness of banana bread, without any of the guilt. Sometimes, plant-based creamers are frustrating, because they separate in the coffee. But not Mooala–it blends perfectly into my morning cup of joe. There are no added sugars and each serving is only 10 calories.

Occasionally, I also need a little pick-me-up mid-day or later in the afternoon. I know people are going crazy for whipped coffee these days, but I actually love making a coffee slushie. It’s so easy to make (just coffee and ice cubes, really), but you can dress it up with a little alcohol, or in my case, a small scoop of vanilla ice cream. Want it to be extra decadent? Top it off with some whipped cream! It’s so creamy and delicious; it’s the perfect afternoon treat.
