Whoa, Super Bowl LII is right around the corner! The big game is February 4, 2018, at 6:30 p.m. EST at the U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota–and you can bet that everyone will be tuning in. If you’re anything like me, you’re only looking forward to the annual event to stuff your face, drink beer and watch the commercials and half-time show. Not being an avid football fan at a Super Bowl party can be tough, especially if you have no clue who to root for and aren’t familiar with the ins and outs of the sport itself. But the Super Bowl is historic and pretty exciting, so you don’t want to be a party pooper either! If you’ve been invited to a Super Bowl party and don’t know what to bring, we suggest trying these amazing football-themed treats, games and decorations:
1. Bake and Decorate Football Cupcakes
You can’t have a party without cake! These football-decorated cupcakes are a fun way to please any Super Bowl crowd. Go with a classic football shape or use your favorite team’s colors and logo.
2. Play Super Bowl Commercial Bingo
Even professional football fans know the commercials are one of the best parts of the Super Bowl. Create Bingo game cards for your guest and see how many you can check off during commercial breaks.
3. Make A Football-Themed Garland
A DIY football-themed garland is not only easy and fun to make, but will also make your Super Bowl party festive. Use a simple pattern of green triangles and football shapes or use colors and logos from your favorite team!
4. Create A Team-Colored Candy Station
Grab a few apothecary jars or plastic candy bags and fill them with candies like M&M’s in your team’s colors– or the team that everyone seems to be rooting for!
5. Make Football-Themed Mason Jars
Use white washi tape to create football mason jars for your favorite game-day cocktails. Bonus points if you can find striped drinking straws with your team’s colors.
6. Decorate With Team-Colored Balloons
You can make your own team-colored balloon bouquets or stop by your local party store for festive Super Bowl party balloons!
Football fan or not, you will definitely impress your Super Bowl crowd with these fun party ideas! But, Super Bowl LII is going to be a must-see event, even if you don’t really care about the game itself. Pink will be kicking off the event, performing the national anthem, and Justin Timberlake will be returning to the half-time stage to perform again since his last controversial appearance with Janet Jacket in 2004.
