Taylor Momsen, in theory, is the perfect celebrity to dress as for Halloween. You won’t have to decide between a sexy costume or a scary one– since her everyday outfits cover both of those fronts– and still her popularity is on the rise: the Gossip Girl actress also has her own band, The Pretty Reckless, and is the face of Madonna’s Material Girl line. The only problem just might be walking in those lucite heels of hers.
To start, you’ll definitely need a long, blonde wig ($24.99). Feel free to mess it up as much as you can- tangles and knots will only make it look more realistic and Momsen-ish.
Thick, black eyeliner is also key and we love this Almay Blendable Eye Pencil ($7.49), since it’s super dark and smudge-able. Apply a ton, as you want to create the raccoon effect Momsen has become known for.
This Young Fabulous and Broke Aida Dress ($207) mimics the short, sheer, lingerie styles that Momsen tends to favor. What makes it worth the price tag, though, is that you’ll want to wear it with black tights, boots, and a cardigan after Halloween and through the rest of the fall.
Get a faux studded leather jacket ($78) from the Material Girl line Momsen is the face of – you’ll definitely get good use out of it after Halloween.
Momsen also loves thigh-high tights and luckily, pairs like these Falke Corsage Stay Up Tights ($69) are on-trend this season. If you don’t have long gams like Momsen, you can still get her look by making sure to push the tights down enough so that there is some skin showing below your dress’s hem.
Cap the look off with a pair of lucite heels, like the ones Momsen has been spotted wearing. While her pair had a built-in tip jar, these Pleaser Women’s Cone Heel Rhinestone Sandals ($57.95) still get the job done.
Now you need some black jewelry – this Delia’s lace heart ring ($9.50) is cheap enough to buy for Halloween only – but cool enough to wear long after the holiday.
