Sponsored Post: 30% Off Minimizers At Bare Necessities Today

bali satin tracings minimizer bra

We totally believe that if you’ve got, you should flaunt it, but a full chest can sometimes make for an overall heavier look; minimizer bras can shave inches off your silhouette so your whole upper body looks leaner.

And Bare Necessities wants you to have a new one: As part of their Black Friday Event, they’re taking 30% off minimizer bras today, like Bali’s satin tracings style ($22.40 from $32), above. Click on over now and avoid the heavy duty price tags that sometimes come with these bras.

Minimizer bras can be daintier than you might think, like Lunaire’s Jakarta Lace Bra ($26.60 from $38). For a reliable everyday bra to wear under tees and swaters go with this Chantelle design ($51.80 from $74) – it’s smooth and seamless, so the clothes you love fit even better.

W Magazine Should Know Readers Won’t Be Fooled Again

W magazine definitely underestimates fashion bloggers’ devotion to scrutiny – in efforts to make 47-year-old Demi Moore’s body look 26 again (to be precise, like 26-year-old model Anja Rubik ) the magazine seems to have done some crafty photoshopping on this month’s cover.

demi moore w covermodel in balmain dress

What alighted attentive bloggers to the editing? If you look closely, you’ll see that Demi’s left hip (our right) is reduced in an odd way, and that slinky Balmain dress seems to float above it. Just like Ralph Lauren earlier this fall, W may have created fashion photo fraud by superimposing the model’s body over Demi. Come on guys, who do you think you’re fooling?

Whether it’s Demi’s real body or not (according to The Daily Mail, the actress is angrily denying the claims), we can all agree the Balmain dress is super hot. However, it’s also pricey, so we suggest getting the glitter effect with a sweet sequin shift by Mark + James or Patterson J. Kincaid’s sparkly chiffon style instead.

How To Wear Velvet Pants And Still Look Like A Grownup

A few weeks ago, we reported on a new phenomenon in the increasingly expanding world of stretchy, skin-tight pants: velvet leggings. Oh yes, this throwback style is already the winter’s coziest trend. But just because you like them (and who wouldn’t want to spend a cold day swathed in the plush material once reserved for royals?) doesn’t mean you know how the heck to wear them. That’s where we come in.

This may go without saying, but when it comes to velvet pants, the first rule is to stick with black. When you were six years old, it was okay to run around in green and purple velvet spandex, but now you’ll want to look more sophisticated. Next, try a simple but fun top, like Vince’s ruffly, cascading design. Even though your party pants are made of velveteen, you want your outfit to exude maturity – so we suggest a stylish boyfriend blazer in gray and some sleek black booties. Finally, glam up your otherwise chiaroscuro-central outfit with a glitzy statement necklace.

News: Giorgio Armani Wants The Web To Get Nobel Prize, Sharon Stone Launches Jewelry Line, And More

Giorgio Armani supports the internet for Nobel Peace Prize

1. Giorgio Armani is backing an initiative called Internet For Peace, which supports giving the internet and all its users the next Nobel Peace Prize.  What would the world wide web wear to that awards ceremony?  Probably a party dress.  [Vogue UK]

2. Sharon Stone launched a charity jewelry line with Damiani, and while promoting it in Tokyo, joked that the Japanese should try pancakes instead of smoked fish for breakfast.  That aside, we like anything that sparkles and helps water wells in developing countries get built. [WWD]

3. Lancome will celebrate the tenth anniversary of their Juicy Tubes collection with a range made from honey, available early next year. If you just can’t wait until then, check out our guide to the best in lip balm.  [Independent]

4. Sean “Diddy” Combs will be selling his fragrances, on-air, on HSN this Monday, and in Diddy style, a special set was built just for him. We want to watch just for fun – HSN has been shaking things up a lot lately.  [WWD]

The Most Stylish Celebs Continue To Cut Up The Red Carpet

rihanna amasjanuary jones amas

Known for her awesomely edgy taste, Rihanna stepped out for The American Music Awards in this striking Marchesa gown, and as always, she was on trend. Cut-outs were a central theme on last night’s red carpet.  Mad Men star January Jones donned a slightly more modest, (but equally covet-worthy) razor slashed frock in electric purple. We’ve long loved the cut-out trend, but if you’re going to dabble in this daring look, we suggest these simpler styles, below.

Alice & Olivia cut-out dresskain tank dress

The risque shoulder cut-outs on Alice + Olivia’s long sleeved design are balanced out by not-too-clingy fabric and a conservative neckline. We also like Kain’s comfy, tank dress for its subtle side slashes–so unexpected, you almost don’t notice them at first glance.

Put Those Multitasking Skills to Work in the Shower With Olay’s Hydrator

OlayInShower
What: Olay In-Shower Age Defying Body Lotion with VitaNiacin ($5)

Why: I’m constantly looking for ways to use my a.m. bathroom time as effectively as possible, and Olay’s In-Shower hydrator with VitaNiacin puts me one step closer to striking that ideal “get in, get out, get on with my day” balance. This moisturizer lets me multitask, doing something I’d normally dedicate a few minutes to (moisturizing) while checking other tasks (like letting my conditioner soak in) off my list.

And—bonus!—it’s actually better to hydrate in the shower, rather than after. All that steam opens pores, making skin a sponge for much-needed moisture. Plus, I can wrap up in a snuggly towel immediately post-shower, instead of standing there shivering (and undoing all my shaving handiwork) while I slather on moisturizer. Soft skin, post-shower efficiency, and a few more minutes to wake up? I’d say that’s a win-win-win.

Is The Future: Conjoined Knees

conjoined knee couture

Move over, bound feet – we’ve got a new way to hobble women for the modern era. Trendhunter brought us shots of conjoined-knee clothing from the brand Arajo (and we’re sorry to report that we have absolutely no idea where one actually buys these wacky onesies.

arajo onesiecurrent/elliott the short sleeve jumpsuit

Besides the most glaring, obvious detail, we also find it notable that these looks are one-piece items.  Hobbled knees might not be a must-do, but a good onesie never hurt anyone. We like Current/Elliott’s short sleeve jumpsuit, which is trendy without being so cool it doesn’t allow us to, you know, walk.
