Deal of the Day: Up to 40% Off Ballerina Flats at Net-a-Porter

Need something to replace your worn out Tory Burches? Or maybe just tired of seeing everyone else wearing the same exact shoe as you? Here are a few different flavors to try:

image

My personal fav, these multi-colored ponyskin Zobra Ballet Flats from Antik Batik (were $200, now $120) would look amazing with a little black dress or a pair of jeans.

image

Louboutin just can't miss, can he? These black and cream Jaws Patent Flats (were $590, now $413) — we're guessing the name came from the jagged zig-zag-like trim around the edge — will go with everything, and yes, they do have the signature red soles.

image

These L'Wren Scott Peep-Toe Ballerinas (were $840, now $504) are nice and neutral, and are the perfect thing to wear with a crazy print or a trendy neon bright.

MORE DEALS:

L'OCCITANE limited time offer! Exclusive Immortelle Gift ($34 value) with any purchase of $85 or more. Enter GLOW.

Receive a terry case filled with goodies with any cosmetic or fragrance purchase of $100 at Saks. Enter code AGELESS at checkout.

Fashion Solution: Banish The Belt Buckle Bulge

Nothing's more inspiring (or worthwhile) than fashion you can actually use, so I'm proud to announce today that I've solved one of my own oldest clothing quandaries. The problem? The nasty bulge my belt buckle makes under fitted layers. Jeans are inevitably too big around my waist–it's a result of Big Booty Syndrome: if the pants can fit over the ample derrier, they'll never fit snug around a trim waist. So I have to wear a belt. But no matter how flat I think the buckle is, its bulky shape is always evident under my bottom layer. At best it looks like a bad outfit; at worst, I look plain fat. Today I got so annoyed with this problem (no way I'm going on a date with this bulge!) that I started to look for solutions. And here it is:

What: The Invisibelt, $19.95

invisibelt

Why: This clear plastic belt has an uberflat clasp, so it's completely undetectable under a fitted top. Genius! It's perfect for anyone with Big Booty Syndrome or those lucky few who have stuck to their New Year's resolution to lose a few pounds. And the company's even got a plus-size version in the works.

Guy Friday: Learn The Art Of Shaving (And Then Teach Your Man)

image

What: The Art of Shaving Starter Kit, $38

Why: Welcome everyone to Shaving 101. By the end of this lesson you will have a greater understanding of the male art of shaving.

An average man shaves over 20,000 times in his life – and there has been a great effort put into the ideal way a man should shave. Chances are your man throws some shaving cream on his face and goes to town with a razor - or maybe he has an electric razor that doesn't always do the trick?  Now you have the opportunity to bring something new into his life and recommend a great starter kit that walks him through the four steps in a clear, simple format.

The Art of Shaving (that's the company's name so you know they are serious about this)  offers an affordable starter kit that includes: Step 1 – pre-shave oil to provide a protective barrier against the razor. Step 2 – deluxe shaving cream and a fantastic old-school brush to provide a thick lather on your man's face before the shave. Step 3 – Shave Away. Step 4 – Alcohol free moisturizer to help sooth the skin.

This kit is perfect for traveling or that simple introduction to the true art of shaving.  It's also a perfect, fun gift. Not only will your man have healthier and smoother skin, but the experience of shaving will become that much more enjoyable.

Shaving Class is adjourned.

Bonus: The Art of Shaving now has over 26 shops across the country (with more coming) that offers haircuts, traditional shaves, and free shaving consultations!

Make Nice With Your Clothes! Bridgette Raes Shows You How To Make It Work:5 Of You Will Win Her Book

imageimage

"Unwieldy thighs, a round belly, a flat chest… no matter what your challenge, Bridgette Raes helps you understand the unique proportions of your body, part by part, and prescribes cuts, styling details, and fabrics that make the most of your body's diversity." What more could a girl ask for? In black and white, style expert Bridgette Raes gives solid, essential advice on how to dress for your body in her amazing new book, Style Rx: Dressing the Body You Have to Create the Body You Want. Bridgette outlines which outfits flatter – or worsen – all of your body parts, from your upper arms down to your calves. Bridgette's contributed her style expertise to SheFinds in the past, and we're psyched to have her back to share her Top 5 Ways To Hide Fat And Still Look Sexy In Every Situation. And it gets better, ladies – we are giving away copies of Bridgette's book to 5 lucky readers. In order to be considered, you have to write to us in the comments section and tell us what body part you need some help camouflaging. The winners will not only receive a copy of the book, but SheFinds will offer you some tips in an upcoming post!

Body Issue #1: Tummy

Solution: Get Control. Want to hide the tummy?  Choose a shirt with ruching or gathers over the tummy area.  Nobody will be able to tell if it is your tummy or the shirt. You can run, but you can’t hide out. Get some control over your tummy and contain it with shirts with shape and structure. SheFinds suggests this long sleeve draped tee with side ruching detail ($100).

imageimage

Body Issue #2: Big Butt

Solution: Go with the flow. Have some extra curve in your derriere? Choose a fit and flare skirt style that counterbalances the fullness of your backside while embracing your God-given curves. Boxy skirts just make your butt look boxy and wide. SheFinds suggests a classic linen skirt for the warm spring days ahead (was $69.50, now $48.65).

imageimage

Body Issue #3: Large Thighs

Solution: Go straight and avoid the narrow. Choose pants that fall straight from the widest point of your thighs or go for boot-cut style pants. Avoid pants that taper at the hem. SheFinds suggests these Super Lux Trousers ($178).

image

Body Issue #4: Large Chest

Solution: Rein the girls in. If your chest is large, don’t hide out! Rein the “girls” in and always wear shirts, sweaters, and jackets that shape in the waist. Shapeless tops just make you and your chest look bigger. SheFinds suggests this Safari Top by Ann Taylor Loft ($44).

imageimage

Body Issue #5: Large calves and Ankles

Solution: Get un-strapped. If you have large calves or ankles get un-strapped and avoid ankle straps on your shoes! Ankle straps make your calves and ankles look bigger! Also, hem your skirts to the slimmest part of your calves to help them appear slimmer. SheFinds loves this elegant Stuart Weitzman Sandal ($275).

We are giving away copies to 5 lucky readers. In order to be considered, you have to write to us in the comments section and share with us what body part you'd rather keep under wraps. On Friday, we will choose the 5 winners!

Walk Into Spring With Sunny Citrus Shoes

The Trend: Bright citrusy soles

Why it's Hot:
A recent trip to L.A. brought on my first introduction to the science-meets-nature phenomenon that is the "fruit salad tree." I couldn't believe I had never heard of these horticultural miracles before; how cool is a tree that sprouts lemons, limes, nectarines and grapefruits all at once? Apparently, fashion's powers that be are as enamored of the fruit salad tree as I am (or perhaps they just enjoy their adult beverages with a twist). Whatever the case may be, expect lip-puckering citrus-hued shoes to garnish the most fashionable feet come springtime.

image
Get the Look:
Party pretty in these sprightly and slightly retro limeade-colored Pepper peep toes from J. Crew ($198). The suede pouf at the toe is equal parts '50s cocktail party, '80s prom, and modern couture.

image
We have a total orange crush on these decidedly non-Louboutinesque tassel loafers ($237). Quite the opposite of Mr. L's towering stilettos, these mango-hued flats are a cheery—and comfy!—addition to any spring wardrobe.

image
The footwear equivalent of the fruit salad tree, Franco Sarto's Dente sandals ($89) are a hybrid of all our sweet-n-sour favorites. Lemon and lime straps criss-cross over ruby grapefruit patent leather. The chic silver buckle is a refreshing accoutrement that adds another graphic element to shoes that are already outfit-makers.

image
You know that refreshing zing that comes with your first sip of Sprite? These Naughty Monkey Colorful Talk pumps ($80) deliver the same fizzy burst and crisp sensation. Neon lemon-lime leather, bright white and silvery rock 'n' roll studs add up to one fresh pair of kicks. Ahhhh.

image
Think you've got your balancing act down? Try your teetering skills in these stacked platform peep toes from Nine West ($89). Reminiscent of a sweet orange dreamsicle, these cream-colored leather numbers have just the right amount of tangelo-bright patent detailing.

Did we leave your favorite pucker-worthy footwear off our list? Tell us all about the most moutwatering shoes you've found in the comment section below.

Sequin Minidress – What Would You Pay?

A perfect complement to the opaque tights that have been everywhere the past few seasons, the sequin minidress offers a huge hit of sparkle with minimal outfit-building work. It’s a standout even at glitzy parties, and even more arresting under a jacket and scarf on a normal Saturday. But an item this distinctive has to have a shelf life – how much would you spend on the trend? Click on the image to see how much this one costs.

Snag The Bag (Before Everyone Else Does)

It's about to snow here in New York City, which got me thinking about handbags for spring. (I know that doesn't make sense, but somehow it's true.) A few truly eye-catching purses have been popping up around town since Fashion Week, so here's a glimpse of what the people who know have dangling from their arms. Get yours before everyone else does.

What: This lightweight M Z Wallace Jane bag ($325) is coated in teflon to make it water resistant. A month ago I knew one fashionista with this purse, but then she came into the office with it, and now I know three. It's just gorgeous in the moss with amethyst color scheme (above), but for spring you might like the sizzling orange or shiny tangiers linen versions.

Crafted from Italian leather (the green one above uses calf leather; the black and white versions are patent) with suede interior, this oversized Tumi Palm Beach Tote ($850) will look as great on the beaches of its namesake city as it will on the sidewalks of yours. And you wouldn't believe the texture!

For something more compact, try this Marc Jacobs bag ($498). It's funkier than what we normally see from him (like the beautiful but conservative stam bag), but I love the burgundy color and crinkled patent leather, and the flat bottom means that it actually sits up when you put it down (to strap on your Manolos).

via

And if you just don't care what the fashionistas are showing off, and just want a good-looking new bag to satisfy your spring shopping obsession, you should always check out the offerings at Bluefly, and control your selection by price. The $100-$199 range has a lot of designer options at reduced prices, as well as lesser-known labels that simply make beautiful bags. A quick search in this category today gave me more eyecandy than I could handle, but here are just two of my finds: This Via Spiga Neela tassle tote ($118.99) is timelessly chic, with a tassle's nod to modernity.

bcbg

And I'm a sucker for anything green, so this BCBGMAXAZRIA studded buckle bag ($169) immediately drew my attention. The thick belt-strap handle is a nice detail.
