Two-Tone Tights: Chanel Looks To The Court Jester For Style Inspiration

Don’t get me wrong, I love tights and have a growing collection of funky knit types, but this crazy two-tone trend that SJP showed off last month reminds me of a bad joker's costume that is being worn waaaaay past Halloween.

Chanel two-tone tights

But maybe I'm alone in my opinion, given the fact that Chanel’s matte ones sold out when they debuted. If you're willing to shell out upwards of $300, you can still score a pair on eBay

Urban Outfitters tights

And Urban Outfitters has their own penny-friendly version for $14.

What do you think? Is this trend the best of both worlds or simply for people who can’t make up their minds? Tell us in the comments section below!

I really like them but I won’t pay $300 since I’d snag them as soon as I put them on.

  2. chicagochic says:

    Ewww! And for $300? Craziness.

  3. jammybaby says:

i like them, but what i REALLY like are these two-toned tights that are horizontal (not vertical like these)-SJP wore them and got blasted for them in a mag, but they looked so hot on her skinny legs! anyone know where to find those?

Is this a joke? $300 REALLY? Where are the diamonds, um don’t see them!

  5. Elisa says:

I’m not crazy about the Chanel ones, but the Urban Outfitters ones are just plain ugly. Opaque on the back and transparent on the front? ugh.

I think the Chanel version appears sexy and slimming. No way I’m paying $300 for something that’s going to be ready for the trash bin after being worn once or twice, though.
