Avon Reinvented The Masacra Wand, But Does It Actually Work?

Why do companies constantly feel the need to reinvent mascara (I’m looking at you, vibrating mascara wand)? When I first saw Avon’s new Mega Lash Mascara, I didn’t even know what it was. It looks nothing like your traditional mascaras. And I’ll admit, I thought it looked kind of gimmicky. It claims to create “panoramic volume” (what does that even mean?) and that it applies mascara more evenly across your lashes. I was completely intrigued by how it looked, so I decided to give it a try.

Since it looks like a mini paint brush, I assumed it would just smear mascara all over my eye. I was pleasantly surprised by the product. The brush combed through my lashes easily and didn’t leave any clumps. I was also impressed by how well it curled my lashes. The first time I used it, I didn’t use an eyelash curler and it gave my lashes a good amount of volume.

Avon’s claiming that this new brush will “change mascara history.” Let’s not get carried away here, Avon. The new mascara is cool, but I don’t see the benefits of the adjustable wand. Why do I need 12 different angles to apply my mascara? I will say that the mascara does apply evenly and gives great volume. It worked really well on my bottom lashes, too. The formula of the mascara is very thick and dark. It goes on very wet, so be careful if you are prone to getting mascara on your eyelids. If you’re looking for a new mascara, I would say it’s worth giving Mega Effects a try. It’s only $10 and you might just fall in love with the adjustable handle.
