Do you like what your hair has to say about you? It sucks, but we all tend you judge people (albeit subconsciously) based on appearances. Here’s what your hair is communicating to the outside world:
A) Long Hair
Long hair fits the perceived ideal of feminine beauty. Flowing locks… Rapunzel… Yada, yada, yada… So, naturally, wearing a more “feminine” hairstyle implies that you are less focused and dedicated than someone with short “serious” hair (read: man). The same applies to men’s facial hair — it’s unprofessional, too laid-back… So where there’s hair, there’s pretty much no victory! Buzz-cut, anyone?

B) Cropped Cut
On the flip side of the long hair backlash, short hair is seen as professional, but less conventionally attractive. Lucky for us, there are a LOT of examples to the contrary: Emma Watson, Lupita N’yongo, Sienna Miller, my neighbor… Keep rockin’ the crop, ladies!

C) Curly/Wavy Hair
Curly hair is to straight hair what long hair is to short. Curly-haired girls are perceived as being exuberant and fun-loving, but less business-minded than their straight-haired counterparts. On the other hand, people with curly hair are less apt to play with their locks, which makes them seem more confident than those who do.

D) Straight Hair
Short, straight hair is the most professional style one can adopt. This look communicates that you’re focused and up for a challenge, but (of course!) fails to promote your image as the SUPER cool and amazing person you are!
