Right when you thought you we’re bikini ready for the long Memorial Day weekend, another new trend emerged to set you back. You’re probably familiar with getting a facial for you face, but now butt facials need to be added to your spa agenda. Yes, you read that right. Just like Belfies aka. butt selfies, butt facials are becoming a thing, especially at one salon in Brooklyn, NY, where they originated.
The official title for the treatment is “The Shiney Hiney,” but for lack of better words, we’ll call it a bacial. During a bacial, women AND men’s butts are exfoliated, peeled, and given a steam treatment, to get rid of acne and other skin problems that may appear on your behind. The whole process lasts for about 30 minutes and costs $65. I don’t know about you, but I can’t imagine spending that much on my butt or laying there face down booty up while the treatment is taking place. It has to be really awkward. Why not just exfoliate at home? Or better yet, wear a bathing suit that covers your butt. And why do guys need it? Ew. The whole thing is completely absurd.
I don’t really see the point unless you truly are taking #belfies on the reg like the butt selife girl herself, Jen Selter. But otherwise, are people really staring at your booty THAT closely at the beach that they would notice a little bump here or there? Unless you’re Beyoncé, probably not. If want to try this new trend or you think it’s bizarre, let us know in the comments. And if you’ve had a bacial, we want to hear about it. We’re really curious. Do we need to add this to our 15 ways to get bikini ready list?
