As much as I love the summer, the heat and humidity make me sweat… a lot! And you know how sweating so much can make you feel sticky and gross, to the point where regular body wash just doesn’t feel like enough? Yeah, that’s me like every day this summer. So I’ve been experimenting with lots of charcoal beauty products to help with detoxing my skin. And would you believe that one of my favorites is an under-$5 body wash you can get from the drugstore?! Really! I’m completely in love with Caress’ new Charcoal & Pink Lotus Purifying Body Wash.
First, I can’t talk about this body wash without talking about the scent. Read any of the reviews online and you’ll see it’s the one thing everyone agrees on; this body wash smells divine. The pink lotus is floral and feminine without being too sweet or girly. And even after you’ve washed the body wash off, the scent still lingers on your skin throughout the day. Seriously, the fragrance is so nice Caress should turn it into an actual perfume. It’s gorgeous.
Now, onto the detoxing goodness! After a seriously sweaty summer day, this is my favorite body wash to use before bed. Not only does it leave my skin feeling extra clean like all the sweat and ickiness of the outside is completely washed away, but it doesn’t totally dry out my skin like some other products with charcoal products I’ve tried. Of course, I always apply body lotion after a shower, but just a nice lightweight moisturizer is enough to nourish my skin after I’ve used this body wash.
If you’ve been wanting to get in on the charcoal beauty craze, this is probably the easiest–and most affordable!–product to start with. It’s definitely a drugstore hidden gem!
