This year has been rough, and since we’ve been spending most of our time at home–it’s all the more reason to create a psychologically healthier and happier space for yourself.

That’s where “wellness design” comes in; expert Amanda Amato explains that the practice of Feng Shui can promote wellness in all of your living spaces. She’s designed four spaces using products all found at HomeGoods, and explained how you can recreate the energy easily at home:

For Prosperity

"The farthest left corner from the entrance in a room is known as the wealth corner and it’s important to infuse life into the corner rather than leave it empty," she says. "I focused on yellow, a color represents good health, wellbeing and happiness, and brought in a faux lemon tree and show-stopping, comfy canvas swivel chair."

To Boost Creativity

"In feng shui, the metal element signifies and ignites creativity, so I always incorporate metal into a work space," she says. "Some of my favorite wall decor pieces are these three-dimensional gold, metal starbursts –just $14.99 for three – that you can arrange on your wall in any pattern you wish. Another easy and functional way to incorporate metal is through furniture. I found this gold metal and mirrored standing shelf that is such a statement piece and was under $130 - perfect for displaying organizational items and decor."

For A Better Love Life

"To promote positive relationships or attract love into your life, it is best to have pairs of items to strengthen connections in your bedroom," Amato explains. "That’s why I incorporated a pair of mineral blue wooden stools for just $49.99 each at the foot of the bed. Also, pairs don’t always have to be identical. In fact, varying shapes help the flow of energy through a space promoting an overall sense of peace and tranquility. That’s why I chose a square-shaped and round bedside table, both made of hand-carved wood."

For A Better Mood

"Shades of red and orange represent the Fire Element which evokes high-energy and passion," she advises. "Add this color to your home office to 'spark' your inner passion for your work and projects. I was inspired by a special orange decorative enamel box that I found at HomeGoods for $14.99. Accessories are an easy and affordable way to transform a space."
