Anyone who knows me will tell you that it is physically impossible for me to leave the house without eyeliner. I rock a wing so often, that it's practically tattooed to my lids at this point. It also made me somewhat of an eyeliner connoisseur because--trust me on this--I've tried 'em all.Recently, I've started to want to switch up my look. Instead of a basic cat-eye, I've been experimenting with more avant-garde shapes (no wings required). Check out my inspiration care of Revamp Amor in the slideshow.
The Scalloped Line
This scalloped-liner look is both girly and badass. Using a liquid liner, outline the edges of each scallop first, taking care to fill in once you're done. I personally think a bold brow looks fantastic with this look. A liner with a Sharpie-like tip is great for controlling how precise you want your line, so I recommend NARS Eyeliner Stylo (I like playing with Koala, a slate gray).

The Straight-Edge
Something about this look just screams mod to me. This is a bit more advanced than the reverse cat-eye, but every bit as sexy. Dot where you want the line to start and end (ideally, a bit below your inner corner and right at where your brow ends. Connect the line, and finish off with mascara! Whether you use gel or liquid here is just a matter of preference -- both offer a striking line, but I find that liquid liner looks more ka-pow than gel. Try Kat Von D Autograph Liner for an uber-precise line.

The Line Break
If you don't want to stray too far from your traditional cat-eye, try an extended version of the look -- with a twist. Start off with your basic cat-eye, but extend the wing closer to your brow so the two nearly meet. Next, opt for a makeup removing pencil (the Nudestix Clean-Up Pencil is the most precise) and block out a tiny square half-way through your line.
