A bridal shower is about more than just watching the guest of honor open up her gifts. It’s also the perfect time to celebrate the bride-to-be’s unique personality and style as she prepares to walk down the aisle and say I do to the love of her life. So you want to plan an event that will not only wow all of the guests, but also be a memory that she will cherish forever. With that in mind, here are seven tips to get you started.
Hold it Outside
If you're having a large gathering, people might be more comfortable this year in an outdoor setting as we still navigate through the pandemic. Just make sure you have a Plan B in place in case it rains, whether it's moving the festivities inside or renting a tent.
Showcase the Bride's Personality
"This should be a full reflection of what the bride likes and what her style is like," says Trista Croce of BTS Events Management. "If she likes drinking wine, there should be a wine bar or wine tasting. If she likes the color red, decorate the area with red decor items. Be sure to add personalized touches and cute details throughout."
Offer a Virtual Option
While people are becoming more comfortable attending parties and other events, there could be a few that are still nervous, explains Kourtney Perry of 7 Centerpieces. "Additionally, there may be out-of-town guests that would love to join you as you celebrate your upcoming nuptials. Since everyone is so used to virtual platforms now, keeping this option will enhance you and your guests' experience."
Create an Insta-Worthy Space
Celebrity planner Andrea Correale of Elegant Affairs suggests creating something fun that can be used as an Instagram feature, such as a step and repeat type wall of roses, that will wow guests and break up the monotony.
Play Games
Guests will expect some form of entertainment during the event, so plan some fun bridal shower games that will get everyone involved. And make the prizes something people will actually use, says Croce. "This doesn’t mean It has to be a high dollar spend but think outside the box and avoid typical things that will go to waste."
Enjoy Personalized Desserts
Indugle everyone's sweet tooth - as well as showcase the bride-to-be - with personalized dessert plates featuring a sweet message, recommends Madison Trau, wedding merchant for Shindigz.
Serve a signature drink
While a full bar is unnecessary, Correale recommends offering guests some wine, panna, pellegrino and one signature drink, such as the popular frosé.
