Adele has made some drastic changes to her appearance over the last year, but her George Michael costume has to be her most dramatic look to date. The 33-year-old singer’s friend Laura Dockrill shared a throwback photo on May 5 to wish Adele a happy birthday, and fans were left with their jaws on the floor after seeing how different she looked. The pair dressed up together for a past costume party, and Dockrill resurrected the image for Adele’s birthday, showing off the singer’s silly side. Completing the costume with the aviator shades and classic scruff that George Michael wore for his 1987 album ‘Faith,’ Adele dedicated herself to the role, even trying on a golden highlighted wig for size. The songstress’ friend Laura Dockrill captioned the picture, “Make sure you BFF with someone that also goes to fancy dress parties not dressed as a sexy cat. Fulfil the brief. Nail the assignment. (Flat shoes for life) I love you so much @adele happy birthday x” Dockrill was dressed as the iconic Michael Keaton character Beetlejuice as the perfect partner in crime.

It seems that while the singer has created her own impressive career, she enjoys shape shifting into other famous performers from time to time to keep fans guessing. Back in 2017 for her 29th birthday, the singer shared an image to Instagram dressed as an old woman, looking completely unrecognizable once again. Ringing in 30 she dressed as Kate Winslet’s Rose in Titanic, complete with a curly wig and sparkling gown. We wonder who she’ll dress as next year!
