The Who's The Boss star has decided to do what not many stars dare to do with their social media presence, which is sharing raw, unedited photographs of themselves. In honor of her 53rd birthday, which occurred on December 19th, Alyssa decided to have a more vulnerable moment with her fans and followers and post what she claimed to be a makeup and filter-free selfie from her bed.

"My annual birthday selfie. No filter. No makeup (just microbladed eyebrows and whatever is left from my last round of Botox and filler)," she wrote in her caption. "This is 53."

In the photo, the mom-of-two took a selfie of herself lying down in bed, wearing a pajama top, with her hair loosely worn down against the pillow behind her. Her skin is clear and smooth, and her lips look full and glossy.

Although the New York native stressed that her selfie was as real and natural as possible, some internet users had a surprising reaction to it, and ended up criticizing her apperance.

After other media outlets reposted the selfie, some fans and users couldn't get over how, despite her not visibly wearing any makeup, the actress still didn't look 100% authentic in their eyes, likely due to the cosmetic treatments she admitted to in her caption.

One user wrote that the actress "is not natural," while another commented that she "doesn't even look like the same person."
