Amanda Seyfried famously had a wardrobe malfunction at the Critics Choice Awards back in January – which she handled like a pro, may we add. But the Mamma Mia! actress, 37, could very well have had another one at the Met Gala on Monday, May 1st due to the super-daring ‘naked’ mini dress she wore on the red carpet!

There was a real mix of outfits at the 2023 Met Gala to honor the late Karl Lagerfeld. Many A-listers went down the daring high-slit dresses route, but we think the Mean Girls alum may have been the most daring of all, with the most skin on show!

Amanda Seyfried Wears Oscar De La Renta At The 2023 Met Gala

The Emmy-winning actress wore a custom Oscar de la Renta 'naked' mini dress to the star-studded event, merging sexiness with old Hollywood glamour. Amanda looked like a modern day flapper girl in the nude, sheer dress, which featured a corseted bodice and was essentially made up of gold strands.

The Dropout star added a breathtaking layered gold Cartier waterfall necklace that looked like it was part of the dress, as did the rest of her accessories. Amanda finished off with some gold Stuart Weitzman heels, and gold hoop earrings and rings from Cartier. While her fingers and toes were also painted gold – we love the consistent golden theme going on throughout the whole look! – she added a pop of color with a seductive shade of dark red lipstick and matching smoky burgundy eyeshadow. Wow! And her hair was just as attention-grabbing too, as it was styled in a voluminous down do with 70s-style curls.

Fan Comments

The look was styled by Elizabeth Stewart, who posted some pictures to her Instagram account the following day. When explaining her and ODLR Creative-Director Fernando J. Garcia's vision for Amanda's outfit, and how they sought inspiration from his time at Chloé as opposed to his most recent work with Chanel, she said: "We wanted to go beyond black and white and even back to the beginning with a nod to [Karl Lagerfeld's] Chloé days in the 70s."

"Incredible!" one fan exclaimed in the comments section. "My favorite outfit of this year's gala. Very iconic," praised another, which someone else agreed with, writing, "My favorite of the night!" followed by a hand praising emoji.

"This was stunning. Thank you for going beyond the obvious," complimented another fan. "Absolutely golden," wrote another, followed by a pink heart, red heart, and twinkling stars emoji, while someone said she was "fabulous" and another said she was "superb." We agree with all of these adjectives!
