A slow Android is a frustrating Android. One way to speed things up is by keeping a close watch on the apps that are running your phone’s battery down and causing it to deteriorate faster. These apps will be different for everyone, and the best way to check on yours is by checking your battery settings. Once you do this, you’ll have a better idea of which apps to remove if your goal is a healthy battery that stands the test of time (and a speedier device).
But, generally speaking, there are two app types that tend to cause issues for many Android users — it’s a wise idea to focus on these. These two battery types are notorious for draining your battery and slowing down your iPhone.
1. Cleaner Apps
Cleaner apps promise one thing — to clean and manage storage — but they deliver another. While they are hard at work, they are also working in the background. When that happens, they consume an abundance of resources, and this can result in them negatively affecting your battery power. Instead of downloading cleaner apps, it’s a smart idea to use Android’s built-in wellness setting. Go to Settings > Storage or Digital Wellness.

2. Social Media Apps
Social media apps like Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok run background services that send notifications, frequently sync, and track your location. These can take up significant amounts of RAM and storage space, which affects your battery power, as well. The fewer social media apps you download and use, the better for your phone’s battery.
