Longtime A-list buds Angelina Jolie and Salma Hayek stepped out this week for a dinner date in Los Angeles with their children, and rocked matching all-black ensembles at the gathering. The ageless actresses have most recently collaborated on a new film, with Angelina directing and Salma starring.

Angelina And Salma Seen Together At Dinner Date
At the outing, where she was joined by 19-year-old son Pax, Angelina donned a flowy black dress layered under a neutral beige trench coat, accessorized with black oversized aviator-style sunglasses and black heeled pumps. Salma, who was accompanied by her 15-year-old daughter Valentina, wore a black collared button-up shirt, shiny black pants, and a black leather jacket. Setting off the ensemble were silver earrings, a gold bracelet, and black sandals.
The dinner took place at L.A. hotspot Nice Guy, where Salma welcomed Pax with an affectionate kiss on the cheek. The award-winning Hollywood stars have been friends for several years now, becoming especially close while working together on the set of Marvel's Eternals, which released in 2021. It seems that the platonic closeness has become a creative partnership: Angelina has directed Salma in a new film, with the Frida actress calling Jolie the best director she's ever worked with.
New Film Without Blood Produced By Angelina Jolie And Salma Hayek
The twosome's new film is called Without Blood, and it's an adaptation of the Italian Alessandro Baricco novel called "an unforgettable fable about the brutality of war—and one girl's quest for revenge and healing." Salma is starring in the piece, alongside fellow Oscar nominee Demián Bichir. She told Deadline in 2022, "I absolutely loved working with [director Angelina Jolie]; enjoyed every second of it. It’s a tough piece, but it was so delicious to come to work every single day. She is a genius and I think this might be her best movie yet. She did an amazing job, really."
Speaking with Variety earlier this month, Angelina discussed what drew her to directing the adaptation. "I read it right as I was going through the beginning of a very dark time in my life. I read it in the month that followed my divorce [from Brad Pitt in 2016]," shared the Unbroken filmmaker. "It had the effect on me that it’s had on so many people." Regarding the novel's cover blurb calling the story one about the complexity of the human condition, Angelina said, "I didn’t understand that when I first read it. I just knew the book had a profound effect on me. I think it’s one of those pieces of art, of somebody’s intuition and mind, that puts something forward that has so much truth in it about who we are as people."
Angelina and Salma's co-production is expected to wrap sometime in the rest of this year, for a likely 2024 release.
