salmon

Salmon

Salmon is chock-full of omega-3 fatty acids, an essential acid that provides a host of health benefits. “Omega-3 fatty acids are important for nail health," says Andrew Weil, MD, clinical professor of medicine at the University of Arizona. Chia seeds, walnuts and flax seeds are also great sources of omega-3 fatty acids if you're not into salmon!

kale

Kale

This leafy green is considered a power food because it's loaded with vitamins A, C, K and tons of iron. "The vitamin K in kale helps to reduce the dark circles under your eyes and ‘tightens’ your skin, thereby reducing fine lines and wrinkles," says dermatologist Dr. David Bank.

grapefruit

Grapefruit

Grapefruits, like oranges and its other citrus cousins, are filled with vitamin C. According to Dr. Roshini Raj, gastroenterologist and founder of TULA skincare, "Vitamin C [helps] destroy free radicals in your body while providing a radiant glow to your skin and rejuvenating skin from the inside."

pomegranate

Pomegranate

Pomegranate is another superfood known for its rich content of antioxidants, a substance that protects the body from free radicals. I'm sure you've noticed that plenty of skincare products have antioxidants in their ingredients. Why use it topically when you can just add it to your diet? Blueberries and green tea are other great sources of antioxidants as well!
