There are a ton of apps that will drastically drain your phone’s battery, but if you are experiencing a major problem with your smartphone battery usage, the solution might simply be to delete those apps. Snapchat

When it comes to battery-killing apps, Florence says one stands out as particularly draining: Snapchat.

“Snapchat is probably the biggest battery killer in the app store, as it uses your camera and location services in order to create photo and video content with special effects,” Florence says.

Facebook

The Facebook app uses a ton of battery because of its background processes and notifications, Florence says. “If you want to continue using the Facebook app, make sure to turn off notifications and restrict background data,” Florence says. Better yet: delete the app and use Facebook via your browser to save battery power.

YouTube

As a rule, any app that streams video content is draining to your battery. “The YouTube app is one of the largest drainers, just as other streaming services are, because of the amount of time users spend watching videos,” Florence says.

TikTok

The TikTok app uses a ton of your phone's battery life due to its video playing and recording features, Florence says. “Just like YouTube, you can limit the amount of battery TikTok uses by creating time restrictions on it,” Florence says. “The last thing you would want to happen is for your phone to end up dead before the day is over just because you spent too long on these apps.”
